SR. HARDWARE ENGINEER - VIDEO SYSTEMS

Seeking a multidisciplinary embedded hardware / FPGA engineer to develop state of the art video processing, distribution and interfacing systems. The ideal candidate will have responsibilities including system architecture, design and test for digital video processing products using application processors, stand-alone FPGAs based SoCs. Responsibilities include system level and board level architecture, design and test. The ideal candidate would participate on a system level design team and contribute to module level definition, interface definition, control definition, hardware/software/FPGA partitioning and overall integration strategy. The candidate would be responsible for board level design entailing researching/specifying components, schematic development, guidance of PCB layout for high-speed signal integrity, board bring-up and hardware debug. Additionally, the ideal candidate would be responsible for FPGA IP development and integration of video processing, distribution and control logic. This includes integration of vendor or locally produced IP, logic and algorithm implementation in RTL, constraint management, synthesis, place & route, simulation, test and debug using the latest FPGA development tools. The successful candidate will work well in a collaborative environment with other engineers, project managers and product managers throughout the design cycles.

Qualified Candidates will have:
  • BSEE Degree (transcripts required)
  • 5 years experience designing complex systems with high speed digital circuits and FPGAs
  • Working knowledge of digital video interfaces, especially HDMI, Display Port and SMPTE video standards is a plus
  • Experience with data communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB2/3
  • Familiarity with memory and peripheral interfaces such as DDR23/4, PCI Express and AXI
  • Experience designing embedded microprocessor/microcontroller based systems
  • Experience designing around FPGA based SoCs is desirable
  • Good understanding of hardware/software partitioning
  • Experience integrating CPLDs and FPGAs with serial transceivers at the board level
  • Demonstrated understanding of signal integrity issues in PCB layout (>150MHz to 6Ghz+)
  • Strong hardware, FPGA and hardware-software integration debugging skills and root-cause failure analysis
  • Experience with Fiber Optic systems a plus
  • Experience with Ethernet 10;100/1G/10G Networking a plus
  • Software programming experience a plus (C/C++)
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment
