Overview

The Cable Cubby^® 650 UT is a modular, under-table mounted cable access enclosure for AV connectivity, remote control, and power. Its flexible, open design facilitates easy cable access for integration into high-end furniture with a professionally fabricated table-matching lid provided by the installing carpenter. Cable Cubby 650 UT enclosures can be ganged together for a nearly endless selection of AV connectivity options. It includes height-adjustable connectivity brackets for mounting three AAP™ AV Connectivity Modules or eight AV cables and three Extron Retractor Series cable retraction modules. Integrated mounting brackets accommodate any surface thickness. Optional AC and AC+USB Series power modules available for US, Europe, and other major world markets. The Cable Cubby 650 UT is available in a black finish.

Cable Cubby 650 UT

Provide a modular, configurable, and furniture-mountable enclosure that shall support a combination of AC power modules, AV cables, and cable retraction modules
1. Device shall support one AC power module plus
  1. Up to eight AV cables, or
  2. Up to three AV connectivity plates, or
  3. Up to four cable retraction modules
2. If AC power is not required, the device shall then support
  1. Up to sixteen AV cables, or
  2. Up to six AV connectivity plates, or
  3. Up to six cable retraction modules
3. The device shall include modules and mounting frames to support AC or AC+USB power, AV cables and/or AV connectivity plates.
  1. The modules shall be positionable within the enclosure, with no fewer than three installer-determined height positions
  2. The modules shall be positionable within the enclosure, mounting to the left or right of an installed AC power module or supplemental connectivity module
  3. AC power modules shall be available for all world markets
    1. AC power modules shall be UL listed and CE compliant when installed within the enclosure
    2. AC power modules shall include one or two AC power outlets, depending on the size of the AC outlet
    3. AC power modules shall include an attached AC power cord or IEC power inlet with detachable AC power cord, as required by local electrical power codes and conventions
  4. AC+USB power modules shall also be available for world markets
    1. AC+USB power modules shall be UL listed and CE compliant when installed within the enclosure
    2. AC+USB power modules shall include one or two AC power outlets, depending on the size of the AC outlet
    3. AC+USB power modules shall include an attached AC power cord or IEC power inlet with detachable AC power cord, as required by local electrical power codes and conventions
    4. AC+USB power modules shall provide two USB power outlets
      1. USB power outlets shall provide 5 volts Direct Current and up to 2.1 amps, or 10.5 watts of power for non-US models
      2. USB power outlets shall provide 5 volts Direct Current and up to 4.0 amps, or 20 watts of power for US models
      3. Total available current shall be shared by the two USB outlets
      4. An external, 12 volt DC, 1 amp power supply shall be included for the USB power outlets for non-US models
      5. An internal, 12 volt DC, 1 amp power supply shall be included for the USB power outlets for US models
  5. The external power supply shall be designed and manufactured by the same entity providing the enclosure and power module
  6. The cable pass-through plate shall be a single unit
    1. The plate shall be flexible to allow the installation, removal, or replacement of cables
    2. The plate shall utilize a split-ring design that accommodates a range of AV cable diameters without the need for supplemental grommets
    3. The plate shall include plugs to cap cable pass-through openings that are not utilized
    4. The assembled plate, with cables, shall install from the top of the enclosure, after it’s installed within the furniture surface
  7. The AV connectivity frame shall be a single unit
    1. The frame shall support two single-space AV connectivity plates, or one double-space AV connectivity plate
    2. The assembled frame, with AV connectivity plates and attached cables, shall install from the top of the enclosure, after it’s installed within the furniture surface
4. Device enclosure shall mount beneath an opening sufficient to accommodate the enclosure
  1. The enclosure shall feature an included mounting bracket
    1. The mounting bracket shall be positionable in various heights to affix the enclosure
    2. The mounting bracket shall be secured with common tools
    3. The mounting bracket shall secure the enclosure to the furniture
    4. The mounting bracket shall allow for removal of the enclosure from the furniture without the need for specialized tools
5. An Internet-accessible application for enclosure configuration and visualization shall be available
  1. Application shall provide for selection of the enclosure, AC power modules, AV cables, AV connectivity plates, and cable retraction modules
  2. Application shall provide accurate depiction of power and connectivity selections
  3. Application shall provide a method of saving a representation of the configured enclosure and corresponding bill of materials
  4. Application shall provide market-specific pricing of the configured enclosure for budgetary purposes
6. Approved device shall be the Extron Cable Cubby 650 UT (part number 70-1183-01); no alternates or equals
