Overview

Extron OM4 MM P multimode fiber is available as a plenum rated bulk duplex fiber optic cable on a 2 km roll. Ideal for moderate to long distances up to 2 km, Extron laser-optimized multimode fiber provides superior bandwidth and ensures pixel-perfect transmission of high resolution video, audio, and control signals. The OM4 MM P is also a bend-insensitive fiber optic cable featuring a tight bend radius to minimize bending loss and simplify installation. Laser-optimized, OM4 performance ensures an AV fiber optic cable infrastructure that supports the highest resolutions.

OM4 MM P/2K

Provide interconnection for the transmission of high-speed optical digital signals over a duplex multimode fiber optic cable
1. Duplex multimode fiber optic cable for transmission of optical digital signals
2. Cable construction requirements
  1. Shall provide two (2) 50/125 µm graded-index, bend-insensitive, laser-optimized multimode fibers
    1. Glass fiber core diameter of 50 µm
    2. Glass fiber outer diameter of 125 µm
  2. Shall provide a 900 µm tight buffer coating surrounding each glass fiber
  3. Shall provide Aramid yarn as the strengthening material surrounding each tight-buffered fiber
  4. Shall provide a two (2) mm diameter, OFNP plenum-rated jacket to meet NEC, CSA, and ICEA safety standards, surrounding each tight-buffered fiber and Aramid yarn strengthening material
  5. Shall provide duplex zip-cord cable construction for strength and protection of the glass fiber
3. Termination requirements
  1. Shall be unterminated at both ends
  2. Shall be compatible with Extron QLC MM Quick LC Fiber Optic Connectors for field termination
  3. Shall be compatible with the Extron Fiber Optic Termination Kit
4. Performance requirements
  1. Shall meet or exceed OM4 laser-optimized multimode fiber performance standards
    1. TIA 492-AAAD
    2. IEC 60793-2-10, A1a.3
    3. ISO/IEC 11801, OM4
  2. Shall provide attenuation of less than 3.0 dB per kilometer at an 850 nm wavelength
  3. Shall provide attenuation of less than 1.2 dB per kilometer at a 1300 nm wavelength
  4. Shall provide an insertion loss of less than 0.5 dB per 300 meters at 850 nm or 1300 nm
  5. Shall provide minimum effective mode bandwidth of 4700 MHz-km at an 850 nm wavelength
  6. Shall provide minimum overfill launch bandwidth of 3500 MHz-km at an 850 nm wavelength
  7. Shall provide minimum overfill launch bandwidth of 550 MHz-km at a 1300 nm wavelength
  8. Shall be bend-insensitive fiber for a tight bend radius of 0.3 inches (7.5 mm) with minimal cable losses
5. General requirements
  1. Shall be available in a two (2) kilometer (6,562 foot) length
  2. Shall provide an outer dimeter of 0.08" ±0.008" (2.0 mm ±0.2 mm)
  3. Shall meet regulatory compliance
    1. ETL/c-ETL OFNP FT6 (plenum rated)
  4. Shall provide a limited lifetime performance warranty
6. Approved cable shall be Extron OM4 MM P/2K (part number 22-225-02), no alternates or equals
