RGB Scalers accept RGsB, RGBS and RGBHV interlaced and progressive scan video signals at standard resolutions or non-standard (proprietary) resolutions and scale them to a desired resolution and refresh rate to match the native or optimal resolution of the display device.
Scan Converters bridge the gap between high resolution computer video signals and regular video equipment. Scan converters accept a high-resolution computer video signal and output a composite video or S-video signal which can be displayed on a conventional video display, recorded to videotape, or connected to a video teleconferencing codec. Advanced scan converters also include a component video output, RS-232 control capability and genlock.
