The IN3554 and IN3556 are high performance RGBHV switchers. These units allow users to select between four or six video sources, routing the selected source to an attached video output device such as a data monitor or projector. Both models are identical in function and design, with the only difference being the number of inputs:

The IN3554 is a 4-Input, 1-Output RGBHV switcher.

The IN3556 is a 6-Input, 1-Output RGBHV switcher.

Passive Design for Wide Compatibility - The IN3554 / IN3556 switchers route analog video signals in the RGBHV format. These units are completely passive, and may also be used with many other signal formats including RGBS, RGsB, RsGsBs, monochrome high resolution video, as well as NTSC / PAL / SECAM sources in the component, Y/C, or composite video formats.

Front Panel Control - Users select the desired input by pressing a front panel button. Each time a button is pressed, the switcher selects the appropriate input and an LED lights to indicate the currently selected input. All non-selected inputs are terminated into 75 ohms.

A Remote Control Port (15-Pin D female) is also provided, allowing the switchers to be remotely controlled by any device which is capable of providing momentary or latching contact closures. This port also includes a +5V power supply and tally outputs to provide feedback to a control system.

Wired Remote Control - The IN3590 remote control provides remote switching capability. This hardwired unit features a 25' cable and duplicates the front panel channel selectors.

Stereo Audio-Follow-Video capability may be achieved using an optional IN3546R stereo audio switcher in conjunction with the IN3554 / IN3556. The IN3546R attaches to the remote port, receiving both power and switching commands from the attached RGBHV switcher.

Cable selection is critical to overall system performance, especially when dealing with very high scan rates and/or long cable lengths. High resolution 5-BNC cables such as the IN7000-5, IN7100-5, IN7200-5, or IN7300-5 Series are recommended for all input and output connections.

Two units may be mounted side-by-side in a 2.5U rack space using the optional IN9081 rack shelf. A single unit may be rack-mounted using the IN9081 rack shelf and an IN9086 half-rack blank panel.
