The IN3582 is a high performance 2-input, 1-output RGBS auto-switcher. The unit automatically switches between two video sources, routing the selected source to an attached video output device such as a data monitor or projector.

RGB Compatibility - The IN3582 is specifically designed for analog video signals in the RGBS format. The unit is completely passive, and may also be used with other signal formats including RGsB, RsGsBs, and monochrome high resolution video.

Video Compatibility - The IN3582 will also operate with low resolution NTSC / PAL / SECAM sources in the component, Y/C, or composite video formats. Due to the unit's passive design, any of the RGBS signal paths may be used to carry video signal, sync signal or even audio (audio signals alone will not trigger auto-switching).

Automatic Switching - The IN3582 automatically senses which input has an active video signal based on the presence of a sync signal on the Sync connector. If both inputs have active video signals, the unit switches to the highest numbered input. For example, if Input 1 and Input 2 both have active video signals, the higher input number has priority, and Input 2 will be selected. The unit is capable of sensing sync signals with negative polarity and voltages from 0.3V to 5.0V.

In order to ensure effective signal sensing and automatic switching with the IN3582, the signal containing the sync will always be connected to the Sync connector. For instance, when using RGsB signals (sync on green) the Red and Blue signal components may be connected to any two of the RGB connectors, but the Green with sync signal must be connected to the Sync connector.

BNC connectors are provided for all input and output connections. Cable selection is critical to overall system performance, especially when dealing with very high scan rates and/or long cable lengths. High resolution RGBS cables such as the IN7000-4, IN7100-4 or IN7200-4 Series are recommended for all input and output connections.

Featuring unattended automatic operation, a compact, durable case enclosure, and high performance, the IN3582 auto-switcher simplifies A/V system design and installation, providing an elegant, economical solution for many types of audiovisual systems.
