The IN6902 RS-232 to relay converter accepts serial commands from any RS-232 source. After receiving a single command, the IN6902 opens, closes, toggles, or pulses the appropriate relays, providing contact closures which may be used to control IN3500 Series switchers and any other devices requiring dry contact closures for remote control.

Add Serial Control to IN3500 Series Switchers - The IN6902 is ideal for adding RS-232 remote control functionality to INLINE 3500 Series switchers including the IN3502 / IN3504 / IN3506 RGBS switchers, IN3554 / IN3556 RGBHV Switchers, IN3562 / IN3564 / IN3566 VGA switchers, and IN3572 / IN3574 / IN3576 MAC II switchers.

17 Independent Relays - Since the IN6902 has multiple relays, it can control up to 17 individual devices. The unit can also control multiple switchers. For instance, a single IN6902 could control four IN3500 Series 4-Input switchers and one 2-Input switcher.

Serial Control For A Variety of Equipment - The IN6902 makes it easy to control many types of equipment requiring latching or momentary contact closures. Switchers, motorized screens, drapes, tape decks, lighting, special effects and projector lifts can be controlled by RS-232 serial commands. Common sources of serial commands are computers and third-party control systems. On PCs, the RS-232 serial ports are usually listed as COM1 or COM2.

Simple RS-232 Code Structure - The IN6902 employs simple command codes with a flexible command structure which minimizes programming tasks. Using a single serial string, the state of one relay, several relays or all relays may be changed. The serial communications protocol for controlling the IN6902 follows:
